Santa Anita Racetrack is a strange place on a weekday. It's mostly empty, so the facilities do not bother having a full staff. Most snack bars and betting booths go unattended, while a custodian sweeps up discarded tickets. What makes the scene stranger is how out-dated the technology and the style of the track is. Old 50lb tube televisions sit in grids, displaying races from around the country. Off colored yellow and red linoleum throw off color of the interior.
Given the aged feeling of the track, I edited these with some especially obvious film filters from VSCO (pack 1), and am happy with the results. Honestly, I wanted to shoot more - but the ever present security guards were circling me like vultures, and I'd rather not get thrown out before I could properly lose my bet on the race.
