At one point, Broadway's big enterprise was theaters. Now, not so much. It seems that all the old theaters have fallen in disrepair, and an odd assortment of other businesses have filled in the cracks: Diamond and jewelry stores, electronic boutiques, and studio lofts. From what I noticed, the biggest business on Broadway isn't in any store, but in the construction business. I saw dozens of workers in there hazard vests and hard hats going to lunch, or on top of structures. So Broadway isn't dead yet, it's just going through reconstruction.
